Unfortunately, pneumatic tyres and punctures are long-term companions! And there's never a good time for a puncture.
So when your tyre has lost its air, we will get you going again, as quickly as possible. We use quality patches, tubes and valves, taking great care to ensure the puncture is correctly repaired so that the tyre remains safe and has a full life. Should the tyre be damaged beyond safe repair, we carry a large range of brands and sizes so we can promptly replace the tyre and get you moving again.
Bandag Retreads
Bandag retread truck and bus tyres, in which new tread rubber is firmly fixed to used tyre cases using vulcanisation, remain popular for various tyre applications due to the variety of tread patterns specifically designed for particular vehicle types, driving situations and road surfaces.
For more than 50 years, we have been manufacturing Bandag retread tyres. We continue to be proud of the high quality of our retread tyres, taking great care to use only quality brand cases in very good condition. We closely inspect every tyre case both visually as well as using an ultra-sonic scanner to 'peer inside' the case to spot potential weaknesses. Any tyre case not 100% suitable for retreading is rejected.
Our Bandag retread factory is located at our North Geelong site, ensuring close integration between manufacture and end user. It allows us to align our retread manufacturing with you particular retread requirements.
Bandag Cold Process Retreads
The Bandag 'cold' process retreading system vulcanises retread tyres at a relatively low temperature of not more than104 degrees Celsius. The benefit of this lower temperature when compared to 'hot' retreading, where temperatures can reach 156 degrees Celsius , is better adhesion of tread rubber to the tyre case and elimination of case damage potentially caused at higher temperatures.
Environmental Benefits of Retreads
Retreading yields significant environmental benefits over new tyres:
- Extends the tyre life by reusing the tyre case rather than discarding it after its 'first' life
- Reduces the consumption of tyre materials such as wire and oil (68% less oil in a retread tyre compared to new)
- Reduces supply chain transportation and shipping impacts since the retread tyre is manufactured locally, close to the customer

Tyre Management and Tracking System
With our computerised Tyre Management and Tracking System, all your tyres stored with us are tagged and tracked and always ready for you to use on any of your vehicles. We fix a unique ticket to each tyre and track them using our dedicated software.
This means you can rotate your truck tyres between vehicles, moving them from one position and vehicle to another. If you use retreads, we can manufacture your retreads using your cases, then keep them on-site until your need them. Should you prefer to pre-purchase new tyres or retreads in bulk volumes, the tracking system means we can keep track of your new tyres and have them readily available to fit as required.
